The Date (Love In O'Leary #.5)

Another author to obsess over = Another series to binge read. This time with May Archer and her Love In O'Leary series. The prequel to the series is titled "The Date"

["Caelan James should've known better than to let a dating app set him up on a blind date. Nothing in life was guaranteed-perfect, especially not guys... and most definitely not guys in the immediate vicinity of tiny O'Leary, New York. And then sexy Navy SEAL Ash Martin walked into Cal's bakery, and made him wonder if fate might have cooked up something sweet for him after all.

Their connection was immediate, all-consuming, and definitely not vanilla... but could their perfect date last for more than just a night, or even a season?"]

This novella (or short story, depending on your definitions) was originally published in the #Heart2Heart anthology under a different name. Either way, it's the first impression and introduction we get into O'Leary and the small town Hallmark magic of it all and fuck, aren't I the more grateful for that.

I love, love, loved this book! It was so cute and fluffy and kinky. They were just like so in love and it was seriously love at first sight and they were perfect for each other and GAH.

The last chapter (pre-epilogue) was a little...much. My only critique was the sheer amount of characters introduced. I mean, I get why May did it (setting up the entire series and teasing at the possible couples in future novels), but it was hard to keep track of who reacts to who and who has history with who and whatnot. But, I digress.
