Be Mine, Bloody Valentine (Corrupt Cupid)

I'm in a dark-romance-era (yes, again), and I'm working through the Mayhem Universe (including authors as such as Skylar Snow and Brea Alepoú). This universe includes the Mafia Daddies series, the Vitale Brothers series (which I've read), The Hitters MC series, and a few standalones (which were actually part of different multi-author series). Here's Skyler Snow's "Be Mine, Bloody Valentine." It's part of the (multi-author) Corrupt Cupid series. ((this MIIIGHT not officially be a part of the Mayhem Universe, but here we are.))

["He left me.

Alec Sanborne abandoned me when I was nothing but a scared teenager. He deserted me in a house with a monster. Now, he’s prancing around NYU as a professor, pretending he’s normal.

But my step-brother is far from normal. I know all of his dirty little secrets, the ones he tries so carefully to hide. I plan to expose him, to strip everything away that he loves until he has nothing but me.

One look and I can see the love and desire in his eyes. He says he wants nothing to do with me, that I can’t be in his class. But how could I abandon the man I’ve fantasized about all these years?

Alec Sanborne is mine. My bloody valentine."]

I wasn't sure about this one. The animosity was high. The hate (haaate) was real. The plot was...vague.

But this book ended up being about redemption, about battling your demons, about saying good-fucking-bye to your past and creating your own future. It was about fighting for what you want, what you believe in, and what you deserve. It was about second chances and first loves and some serious kinks.

Trigger Warnings: blood play, knife play, murder, death, torture, past mentions of SA, dub-con, past mentions of abuse, loss of a parent, mention of drugs, and more.
