Here's Ashley Rayne's latest: "Seductive Nights." It's the second novel in her Peaches series.
["Jonas
Five years ago, after I lost my husband, I barricaded my heart, not strong enough to let another person get close to it. When our sweet but clumsy bartender, Preston, needs somewhere to stay, I offer him my spare bedroom. We’re friends, nothing more. Now, though, the more time I spend with my new roommate, the more he tears down the walls I’ve built. He’s bubbly and sassy, drawing me in from the first broken glass.
I want to let him in, but I can’t…
Right?
Preston
My friends tried to warn me my ex was bad news, but it’s not until I catch him with our next-door neighbor that I truly see it for myself. Being cheated on sucks, sure, but being cheated on and realizing you have nowhere to live is even worse. Luckily, Peaches’ head of security, Jonas, has a place for me. With him. Sure, it starts off innocently enough, but one night, some green lace and a pole change everything.
It’s just a bit of fun. I won’t fall for my roommate…
Will I?"]
Ohhh, now I remember Preston and Jonas from the first books. They had so much chemistry and potential then, let alone now.
These two were adorable as hell. They helped each other grow, helped each other heal, helped each other find happiness again. They pushed each other to try new things, to slowly get out of their comfort zones. Of course, doing so helped them get closer and closer (emotionally--at this point they were already pretty damn close physically ;) ) until they were falling head over heals.
Again, I canNOT wait for the rest of this series. We got soo many teasers for future couples, and I want them now.
Trigger Warnings: off-page death of a spouse, cheating, and more.
