Not sure if this qualifies as giving into social media posts or crossing things off my TBR, but here's Syn Blackrose's "Tied To You." It's the first novel in the Kozlov Brothers series.
["Seb
I have nothing. I feel nothing. Nobody cares about me and I crave to feel something. To be wanted.
When life can't get any worse, it suddenly drops a hot Russian bad boy in front of me whose orbit I have been thrust into.
He won't let me go. He annoys me. He thrills me. I hate him. And I can't wait for him to catch me.
Dima
I'm obsessed as soon as my eyes land on Seb. He is the hottest thing I've seen. I must stake my claim on him.
He thinks he has a choice. He doesn't. He thinks he can run from me. He can't. I will catch him and take whats mine.
I will devour him. I will claim him. He will be mine."]
I wasn’t sure about this book at first. It was dark and twisty and mafia-based and possessive/obsessive as hell. But it was also…it took me a bit to get into some of the language and the dubious consent (which was very dubious at first but turned very enthusiastic).
I put this book down for a while, but then I decided to give it another shot. And I’m really glad I did.
It was still very dark and twisty and mafia-y, but it got softer somehow. And it was still very possessive/obsessive, but it turned very mutual very quickly. They talked out some things, negotiated some things. A real connection grew. It was honestly kinda romantic in the end.
Trigger Warnings: dub-con, kidnapping of MC, blood play, knife play, torture, murder, and more.
