The Holiday Boyfriend (Doves of Destiny #2)

Who can turn down a cute Holiday series? Certainly not me. Here's Rye Cox's "The Holiday Boyfriend." It's the second book in her Doves of Destiny series.

["Can love develop from a situationship? Asking for a friend.

Austin Wood
There is nothing worse than being in love with your best friend. Scratch that. There is nothing worse than living with your best friend whom you are madly in love with and had an accidental one night stand with. What is even more confusing is the fact that Jim seems to not understand what a one night stand is. He thinks we're in some kind of friends with benefits situation, and I don't know if I'm in heaven or hell.

Jim Walker
I love my best friend. Not in that way, but I consider him one of the most important people in my life. I'll do anything for him, even helping him relieve some tension when he needs it. Now, I just have to ignore the weird pang in my chest every time he leaves right after."]

The first half of this novel was…a little too sweet. Correction (or clarification): there was too much prose and internal dialogue and not nearly enough action or dialogue. It picked up around the 50% mark (around the same time the spicy level skyrocketed ;) ).

Then it became a will-they-won’t-they thing. And not kiss or even sex, no that was easy. I mean TALK. ;)
